In addition to being totally fun for your child, here are some benefits of enrolling at The Dance Center (in addition to our awesome Glenmont dance teachers) ...
Boost Physical Fitness: Dance enhances strength, flexibility, coordination, and balance, laying a strong foundation for gymnastics skills.
Enhance Cognitive Development: Learning dance routines improves memory, concentration, and problem-solving abilities, which translate well to gymnastics training.
Foster Creativity and Expression: Dance encourages self-expression and creativity, helping children build confidence and a love for movement.
Promote Social Skills: Group dance classes teach teamwork, cooperation, and communication, fostering positive social interactions and friendships.
Build Discipline and Focus: The structured nature of dance routines helps children develop discipline, focus, and perseverance—key traits for excelling in gymnastics.
Improve Emotional Well-being: Dance is a fun, joyful activity that can boost mood and reduce stress, contributing to overall emotional health.
Support Overall Development: Combining dance with gymnastics enhances overall physical and mental development, creating well-rounded athletes.
Dance Attire: For Ballet, Lyrical, Jazz, and Tap students can wear a leotard and tights with the corresponding shoes for the class (ex. ballet shoes for ballet, tap shoes for tap, etc). Coverwear, when appropriate, is allowed (jazz pants, ballet skirts). For Hip/Hop & Street Dance, shoes/sneakers must NOT be shoes that have been worn outside; a leotard and tights are preferred, but leggings and t-shirts/tank tops are acceptable. For parent/child classes please dress with comfortable clothes and bare feet (socks are acceptable for adults). For all dance classes, students must have hair pulled up (so it's not in the face) and minimal/no jewelry. Please bring a labeled water bottle and label shoes/bags. No crop tops allowed.
